Easy Valentine's Day Treat Ideas To Make with Kids
With a few simple ingredients, you can whip up one of these cute treats this weekend.
Chocolate Covered Pretzels
I love these and they couldn't be easier. I use gluten free pretzels, but you can use any kind/size that you like.
You Need: pretzel rods, melting chocolate, valentine sprinkles (my favorite dye-free sprinkles)
To Make:
Melt the chocolate or candy melts according to package instructions.
Dip the pretzel rods into the melted chocolate, covering them halfway.
Place the pretzel rods on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them cool until the chocolate hardens.
Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
These are so pricey to buy around Valentine's Day - but you can easily make them at home.
You Need: fresh strawberries, milk, dark, or white chocolate (or a combination), sprinkles or nuts (optional)
To Make:
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or using a double boiler.
Dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate, covering them halfway.
Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle with toppings like sprinkles or nuts.
Let the chocolate set in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Valentine's Day Snack Mix
A fun way to add a little Valentine love into an easy snack.
You Need: mini pretzels, popcorn, Chex cereal, red and pink M&Ms, white chocolate
To Make:
Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Spread out mix on parchment-lined baking sheet.
Melt white chocolate in microwave or double-boiler.
Drizzle white chocolate over snack mix, and let it set.
Share the love.
These treats are not only easy and delicious, they are a fun activity to do with your kids. Even little ones can get in on it!
