10 of the Best Things to Buy at Trader Joe's
If you’re lucky enough to have a Trader Joe's nearby, you probably already know about their great products, friendly staff, and super affordable prices. It's truly one of my favorite stores. Today I am sharing 10 of the best things to buy at Trader Joe's.
There are many more than 10 must-have items from Trader Joe's, but I liked the challenge of coming up with my top 10. Add these items to your list for your next trip to TJ's.
10 of the Best Things to Buy at Trader Joe's
ONE: Snacks. Trader Joe's has some of the best snacks, all at great prices. They also have a lot of gluten free options which is a necessity for our family. We especially like the White Cheddar Corn Puffs (think Pirate's Booty), the Organic Corn Chip Dippers (think Fritos but better) and the spicy Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips (TJ's version of Takis).
TWO: Dried Fruit. The dried fruit selection at Trader Joe's is unparalleled. There are so many different options! The unsweetened dried mango and the slab apricots are two of our favorites. The bags don't last long at our house. Dried fruit makes for an easy and portable snack. We almost always bring a bag on road trips. When my kids were toddlers, they loved the freeze-dried fruit as well.
THREE: Nuts. Like the dried fruit selection, the nut aisle is also a must-visit. There are so many different kinds - from basics such as cashews, almonds and pistachios to seasoned and sweetened nuts, to trail mixes galore. We love the small bags of Trek Mix.
FOUR: Produce. Trader Joe’s has a big selection of produce, and if you like to choose organic, the price can’t be beat. I love the pre-cut packaged veggies, the salad mixes (lots of choices!), and the teeny tiny cukes for my kids - my youngest has to get them every time we go.
FIVE: Cooking Oils. I go through a lot of cooking oil, so I appreciate Trader Joe's large selection and reasonable prices. I always have their avocado oil and olive oil in my pantry. I also buy the spray versions. Coconut oil is another staple I always grab on a TJ's trip.
SIX: Spices and Seasonings. Trader Joe's spices and seasonings are so affordable, and they have lots of options. They also come in aesthetically-pleasing jars, if you care about that sort of thing (I do!). The Everything But the Bagel seasoning is a cult-favorite. If you haven't tried it, grab some on your next trip.
SEVEN: Gluten Free Bagels and Baked Goods. We always have a supply of Trader Joe's gluten free bagels and breads in our freezer. We especially love the cinnamon raisin bread! TJ's also has gluten free mini cupcakes and big, bakery size muffins which are great for brunches or birthday parties if you need a gluten free option.
EIGHT: Flowers & Plants. Trader Joe's has the best selection of fresh flowers and plants. They are perfect to pick up for yourself or to give as a gift. You can't go wrong with the price.
NINE: Cards. Trader Joe's is the only place I buy cards now. They have a great selection of birthday, baby, wedding, sympathy, and thank you cards as well as holiday cards. And the best part - they are only $.99! Best deal ever. Stock up when you go, and you won't need to do those last minute runs to the drugstore every time you need a card.
TEN: Beauty. Trader Joe's has a small bath and beauty section with some hidden gems. I love their hand cream and body butters. We also love their facial sunscreen, it goes on so smooth and clear. I think you'd be surprised at how effective many of their products are, and they are priced so well.
I hope you found this list of 10 of the best things to buy at Trader Joe's helpful. It's definitely not exhaustive, but it covers my must-buys on any trip! Do you have any TJ's favorites? Drop them in the comments below, because I absolutely want to know!

I’ve never been to Trader Joe’s and not sure there’s one in Texas. Googling now to see where the closest one is. Need to stock up on flowers & cards!
Oh I hope you find one! It's a great store. You won't want to buy regular priced cards again, haha. Thank you for reading and commenting!
