The Best Gluten Free Snacks
Today I am sharing some of the best gluten free snacks! Whether you eat gluten free or not, this list is full of delicious, healthy snack ideas for you and your family.
Gluten free has become a bit of a buzzword over the last few years. Many people choose to eat gluten free because it makes them feel better. Then there are others, including those with celiac disease, for which a gluten free diet is a necessity to stay healthy. No matter the reason you choose to eat gluten free (or maybe you have loved ones or friends that follow this diet), it is easier than ever to find yummy, healthy, gluten free snacks.
Here I’ve rounded up some of my favorite gluten free snacks to stock your fridge and pantry.

A Note About Gluten Free Snacks
Gluten free does not equal ‘healthy,’ it just means that the item does not contain gluten. It may still be ultra-processed or contain a lot of added sugar or preservatives. When I am choosing snacks for myself and my family, I look for whole foods, short ingredient lists with ingredients I can pronounce, low-to-no added sugar, and a mix of carbohydrates, protein and healthy fat. This list is not only for those who eat gluten free, these are great options for anyone who’s trying to choose better-for-you snack options.
My Favorite Naturally Gluten Free Snacks
Lots of foods are naturally gluten free, delicious, and nourishing for your body. Here are some of our favorites:
Whole Fruit. Apples, pears, clementines, berries, melon, bananas - the list goes on and on. All fresh fruit is gluten free and a perfect healthy snack.
Apple with Nut Butter. One of my all-time favorite balanced snacks - full of fiber, nutrients, and healthy fat.
Raw Veggies & Dip. The sky is the limit when it comes to raw veggies such as carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, snap peas, and celery dipped in hummus or guacamole. This combo provides fiber, nutrients, protein and healthy fats. Eat up!
Dried Fruit. My kids love dried fruit - and so do I. Just be sure that there is no added sugar, that it is just dried fruit. Dried fruit has more concentrated natural sugars, so you want to pair this with a protein or healthy fat to make it a more balanced snack.
String Cheese. String cheese, or any cheese at all, is a great snack on it's own or in addition to fruit, veggies, or crackers. It provides both fat and protein.
Plain Yogurt with Berries. This balanced snack also makes a great breakfast or dessert. Mix in a scoop of protein powder for an extra protein boost.
Nuts & Seeds. Nuts and seeds are an amazing source of nutrients, healthy fats and protein. There are so many to choose from, and they are easily portable. Nuts make a great addition to a trail mix and also work well as a topping on a yogurt or chia pudding bowl. In our house we are big fans of almonds, cashews, pistachios and pumpkin seeds.
The Best Packaged Gluten Free Snacks
Now more than ever before there are so many gluten free snack options out there. This list is not all-inclusive - I've tried LOTS of gluten free snacks. But these are some of my favorite better-for-you snacks.
Popcorn. A great source of fiber. We love Skinnypop or Lesser Evil. We also love to make it homemade with this popcorn popper.
Beef Sticks. An easy source of protein - Chomps and Archer Country Provisions are our favorite. We always pack these for road trips.
Simple Mills Crackers. Simple Mills has a variety of different crackers, and I love that they have a clean ingredient list. I really love this brand. The Farmhouse Cheddar crackers are a favorite in our house - they are like a cleaner version of a Cheez-it.
Quinn Pretzels. These pretzels are so good! My favorite are the chocolate-filled pretzel nuggets.
Zack's Mighty Tortilla Chips. Zack's Mighty tortilla chips have the perfect amount of salt and crunch. These chips and a great guacamole is a winning combination.
RX Bars. Minimal ingredients, lots of flavors. I always have one of these in my bag. The chocolate sea salt is my favorite.
Aloha Bars. These bars are high in protein, low in sugar, and have lots of yummy flavors. We love the peanut butter cup flavor. (Check out more of my favorite gluten free protein bars, here!)
Trader Joe's Olive Packs. Trader Joe's sells individual packs of manzanilla olives, and they are so good. If you are an olive lover, these are a great source of healthy fats and so easy to grab-and-go.
Kid Favorite Gluten Free Snacks
Skout Bars. Minimal ingredients, lots of flavors, no added sugar.
Go Macro Kids. We love the brownie and cookie dough flavors.
That's It Bars. Minimal ingredients, no added sugar.
Solely Fruit Strips & Fruit Snacks. One strip is one whole mango, with no added sugar.
Bear Fruit Rolls. Another option for the fruit snack lover, also with no added sugar.
Once Upon a Farm Smoothie Pouches. Great ingredients, my son loves these.
Unsweetened Applesauce Pouches. Great for lunchboxes or on-the-go.
Siete Churro Strips. Crunchy and sweet, these are so yummy.
Partake Chocolate Chip Cookies. These crispy little cookies are free of most common allergens, making them perfect for sending to school.
The Good Crisp Company Chips and Cheese Balls. A better-for-you twist on classic snacks.
Made Good Star Crackers. A gluten free alternative to the classic goldfish cracker. Simple Mills Pop Mmms are another great option.
Where can I find these gluten free snacks?
I get most of these snacks at my local grocery store. You can also find many of them on Amazon, Thrive Market or even at Costco.
