Powerful Intentions to Set for the Fall Season

Now that September is here and summer is in the rearview, it's got me thinking about setting some intentions for this upcoming fall season. September always brings with it a feeling of newness, a fresh start, and the perfect time to look closer at my own personal goals and intentions as well as those for my family.
When setting intentions, my goal is not to put pressure on myself or create a never-ending to-do list or must-achieve list. It's simply a way to think through goals and where I'd like my priorities to lie. The fall is a super busy season for us with school, kid activities, holidays - all the things. I can easily get caught up in the go-go-go. Setting intentions helps to provide a little bit of focus. Will I do everything I write about here? Probably not. And that's okay.
Today I am sharing my thoughts on some powerful intentions to set for the fall season.
Wellness
As I mentioned, the fall is one of the busiest seasons for our family. If you have young kids, the new school is year is starting and bringing with it all of the activities, sports, homework and school events. There are also all of the holidays that many gear up for during this time of year. It's easy to cast aside some of our healthiest habits - eating well, movement, sleep - when there is just so much to do. This fall I want to set the intention to not lose sight of those habits, but in fact keep them going strong so I have the energy to keep up with and enjoy these next few months.
Money
Why is the fall so darn expensive?? Is it all the school supplies and clothes? The Halloween costumes? All the holiday decor that is calling my name? Or all the delicious fall drinks at the coffee shops? Yes, it probably is all of these things - plus many more. Life is generally so expensive these days. With the holidays just a few months away, I want to be intentional with how I am spending and saving my money. It doesn't mean I won't be buying anything, it just means that I am going to be mindful about my purchases.
I use an app called Every Dollar to keep a simple monthly budget which has been a game-changer for me in terms of paying closer attention to what I am spending my money on.
Time
I am an introvert by nature, and so I am always one to lean toward less plans, and more home time. On the flip side, I really like to do things with my kids - whether it's a trip to the apple orchard or pumpkin patch, a day trip to the city, or meeting up with friends. It's a constant balancing act. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with all the planning and decision making and trying to do all the things but still have that me-time I so desperately need for my own self-care. This fall I want to be intentional with how I choose to spend my own time, but also with what I commit to for my family. I've also realized that it's okay to say no to things. Sometimes a weekend at home is what we all need and I am working on not feeling guilty about that.
This Blog
I started this blog about five months ago and it has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself. I've learned so much and it's really brought me so much joy. That being said, it takes time (and lots of it), to keep up. I want to continue to find time to dedicate to growing my readership and my community here.

Water, water, water.. that is my intention this fall. I’m guilty of going from coffee in the AM to a glass of wine at night with nothing in between!!! Can you believe it!!! I’m just not thirsty.. so setting this intention for myself is really important. I find that water apps as well as filling what I want to drink and visually seeing it help tremendously! Thanks for your reminder in your blog to be intentional!! 🫶
I love this! What a great intention. I might have to add this to my list as well. 🙂
